The meeting was opened by program manager Hessel Hiemstra, who welcomed the visitors and briefly explained how the collaboration between the municipality of Den Helder, the province of Noord-Holland, and the Ministry of Defense contributes to a future-proof port and improved quality of life in the city.
After the opening, three rounds of carousel presentations followed, in which visitors could explore various themes:
🔹 The draft design for the Het Nieuwe Diep/Nieuwe Werk road
🔹 The preferred variant for the navigation route through Willemsoord
🔹 The Spatial Framework Buitenveld
In addition, there were various information stands in the foyer, including information about the planning procedure (the Scope and Level of Detail note), the Ravelijnbrug bridge, the Moormanbrug bridge, and participation within the program.
The meeting was part of the joint Maritime Cluster Den Helder program, in which the municipality of Den Helder, the province of Noord-Holland, and the Ministry of Defense are working together on a future-proof, sustainable, and easily accessible port.
