Working on the renewal of the Teso landing facilities

In consultation with TESO, the municipalities, the province and other parties, Rijkswaterstaat is preparing the construction of new landing facilities for Texel and Den Helder. Rijkswaterstaat is responsible for these landing facilities, which consist of the traffic bridge, the lifting towers, the floating jetties (traps) and the marshalling area. The central question in the past period was: where can the facilities best be placed, and which design fits in with that? The current landing facilities date from the 1960s and need to be replaced. In recent years, Rijkswaterstaat has carried out a great deal of research into the best way to replace the landing facilities. This involves looking at matters such as costs, construction time and the ship’s sailing route. The various options are discussed extensively with the partners. More information can be found in the article Working on the renewal of the landing facilities (pdf) from the TESO Journal June 2025 (pdf)
